Expression lines

Smooth without freezing

Expression lines come from the repeated movements of the face and become more visible as the skin gradually loses elasticity. They can mark the forehead, the eye area and the space between the brows, but also the lower face with marionette lines or the well known barcode lines, sometimes giving a more tired, severe or sad expression.

Our approach

Preserving the harmony of the face

At Skincare Agency, we do not set out to freeze the features. We set out to preserve the harmony of the face, keeping your expressiveness.

  1. 01

    Objectify

Analysing muscular intensity, skin quality, volume loss and the dynamics of the face precisely.

  2. 02

    Personalise

Choosing the right protocol: injections, collagen stimulation, medical technologies, dermatological cosmetics.

  3. 03

    Quantify

Adjusting doses, planning the follow-up and measuring progress for a natural, lasting result.

Upper third

Forehead lines & the frown line

Forehead lines and the frown line (between the brows) are caused by repeated contraction of the muscles of the upper third of the face.

Over time they become permanent, even at rest.

Aggravating factors

  • Stress and concentration
  • Sun exposure
  • Tobacco
  • Loss of hyaluronic acid
  • Hormonal decline

Understanding how a line evolves

Forehead lines and the frown line are first described as dynamic: they appear during expressions (concentration, surprise, annoyance).

With time and repeated muscular contraction, the skin marks and the line can become visible even at rest. It is then called a settled line.

That distinction is essential, because it guides the choice of treatment: acting on the muscle, on skin quality, or combining the two.

A controlled and safe technique

Botulinum toxin has been used in medicine for many years. Injected precisely and at a suitable dose, it relaxes excessive contraction without freezing the face, for a natural and gradual result.

The aim is not to erase the expression, but to soften its intensity while preserving the harmony of the features.

Our solutions

Every face is unique

Our specialists study expressions, facial structure and areas of tension in order to propose a suitable treatment.

Eye contour

The eye area: fine and demanding

Crow’s feet appear through contraction of the orbicularis muscle. Over time, the thin skin around the eyes loses collagen and elasticity.

The eyes can look tired, marked, less luminous.

Crow’s feet and the eye area

Crow’s feet and fine lines around the eyes appear naturally over time.

This is one of the thinnest areas of the face. The skin there is fragile, very mobile, and often marked by fatigue, stress, lack of sleep or dehydration.

Depending on the profile, the lines may be mainly linked to expression (smiling, squinting) or to a loss of skin quality (diffuse fine lines, a crumpled look).

Bespoke care for a rested eye area

Our approach aims to smooth without weighing down and to preserve the light of the eyes.

Depending on your skin and the depth of the lines, we may combine several techniques: light botulinum toxin to reduce over-contraction, skinboosters or mesotherapy to hydrate and densify, and complementary technologies (peel, microneedling, radiofrequency) to improve texture.

Perioral area

Lines around the mouth

Smile lines, marionette lines and the vertical lip lines result from volume loss, tissue descent and repeated contraction of the orbicularis muscle.

They can give a tired or sad look.

A multifactorial area

Perioral lines, marionette lines and nasolabial folds often result from a combination of factors: repeated contraction, loss of volume around the face, skin laxity and the gradual decline of collagen.

Over time, the mouth can look less defined, the smile less supported, and the expression sometimes more severe or tired.

Restoring volume without stiffening the expression

Care rests on a precise analysis of volumes and of tissue support.

Depending on needs, hyaluronic acid injections placed in strategic areas act on the folds or the marionette lines, while tissue inducers and stimulation technologies improve the density and firmness of the skin.

Red Light Bed red and infrared light therapy session

Red Light Bed (red and infrared light therapy)

Smoothing lines & fine lines through collagen stimulation

The Red Light Bed smooths lines and fine lines by stimulating the natural production of collagen through the activation of cellular mitochondria. Infrared wavelengths penetrate the skin deeply and activate cellular ATP, allowing fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin. That increase in collagen gradually thickens the dermis, naturally smoothing fine lines and reducing the appearance of moderate ones. Improved blood circulation also creates better skin hydration, which visually softens expression lines. Ideal for skin laxity associated with fine lines, or alongside active treatments to amplify the smoothing.

  • Red light bed for gradual smoothing of lines and fine lines
  • Activation of mitochondria and production of ATP (cellular energy)
  • Stimulation of collagen and elastin synthesis for dermal densification
  • Gradual improvement of skin texture and skin quality
  • Natural smoothing of fine and moderate lines through dermal thickening
  • Improved skin firmness, reducing the appearance of lines
  • Improved blood circulation for better skin hydration
  • Non-aggressive treatment with no downtime

Recommended protocol

  • Standalone treatment for fine lines: 2 to 3 sessions a week for 12 to 16 weeks for visible smoothing
  • Alongside Volformer or Morpheus: 1 to 2 sessions a week between treatments to amplify the smoothing
  • Immediately after treatment: 1 to 2 sessions 24 to 48h after Morpheus 8, a peel or microneedling to speed up the smoothing
  • Length per session: 15 to 20 minutes

Expected result

  • Gradual smoothing of fine lines (results visible at 6 to 8 weeks)
  • Visible improvement of moderate lines through dermal densification
  • Better overall skin texture
  • Reduced appearance of expression lines at rest
  • Improved hydration, so lines look less marked
  • Smoother, firmer, rejuvenated skin through natural collagen regeneration

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Botulinum toxin acts on the muscles: it reduces the contraction responsible for expression lines.

Hyaluronic acid acts on the skin and on volumes: it hydrates, fills or restructures depending on the type of product used.
