Medical Blepharoplasty

For a long time, sagging skin on the upper eyelids could only be treated through a surgical procedure that required anesthesia and often a difficult post-operative recovery. This procedure is called an eyelid lift.

Aesthetic medicine offers a non-invasive solution to treat the eye contour area and proposes a treatment plan using fractional radio frequency to reduce the folds of the eyelid skin that appear due to age and the genetic heritage of each individual.

This treatment, called medical blepharoplasty, allows the patient to obtain smooth eyelids, and less wrinkled skin, creating a generally more open look and a less tired appearance–in just two sessions. The idea is to intervene locally and therefore specifically to tighten and smooth the skin in order to remove wrinkles on the upper eyelids. The results of this technique are visible from the first session but in general two to four sessions are required to obtain a more lasting result. The number of sessions depends mainly on the severity of the folds on the eyelid to be treated.

HOW IS THE MEDICAL BLEPHAROPLASTY TREATMENT PERFORMED?

This procedure is first and foremost a medical procedure and must be performed by a cosmetic dermatologist. Equipped with a handpiece called Colibri®, the doctor will apply micro spots of heat to the skin of the upper eyelids.

The heat generated by the radiofrequency will allow for a very precise and controlled abrasion that will act on the skin tissue, causing a reaction and the tissue will immediately tighten and give a lifted effect.

The technique of aesthetic medicine also called PlexR is based on the technology of “plasma exeresis”, an energy rich in ions and electrons that heats the superficial layer of the epidermis by inductions.

YOUR PERSONALIZED CARE

This aesthetic medicine procedure is carried out as part of the classic patient care protocol at Skincare Agency.

Welcomed by a Personal Beautician, you will first obtain a facial diagnosis. Using VISIA 7 technology, your Personal Beautician will take a 3D photo of your face and then analyze your skin in order to better understand its issues.

This complete assessment will be transmitted to our cosmetic dermatologist who you will subsequently have a medical consultation with, and who will present to you in detail the steps and the benefits of a medical blepharoplasty.

On the day of the procedure, an anesthetic cream is applied locally 1 hour before the treatment.

Then, using a Colibri® handpiece, the doctor makes several passes over the areas to be treated in order to create small heat points on the entire eyelid, providing an immediate tightening effect. The procedure itself takes about 20 minutes. Then you are placed under a light therapy device to soothe the skin.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST?

Each session lasts approximately an hour and a half. The exact duration of the treatment depends on the patient, the extent of skin laxity and the amount of excess skin to be treated.

Even if the effectiveness of the treatment is visible from the first procedure, it is sometimes necessary to complete several sessions to obtain a result as definitive as a surgical blepharoplasty.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS FOLLOWING THE TREATMENT?

Following the session, small crusts will form on the eyelids. The application of a healing cream will make them disappear within six days. To accelerate the healing process, we also recommend LED sessions.

Depending on the case, an edema may appear the day after the treatment. This actually a good thing and indicates that the treatment has worked perfectly. It will disappear within 48 hours after the treatment.

One week after the treatment and from the first session, your look is rejuvenated, and you look less tired.
